Becoming a Registrar of .GQ in Equatorial Guinea

Welcome to the Registrar page in Equatorial Guinea. In order to obtain the accreditation from GETESA, you must print and sign the Registrar Agreement.

You can download the Contract here: GETESA Registrar Agreement

Registrars must pay a CFA 50,000 accrediation fee. This fee is payable to GETESA, and can be paid by bank wire, or sent by cheque or in cash.

The Registration Agreement does not contain any obligation to sell any minimum number of .GQ domains.

GQ domain resellers will be able to connect to our platform via EPP or API protocols.

The Dominio GQ Registry operates its own WHOIS (Thick Registry) and resellers are required to communicate Registrant data in order to ensure the continuity of the Registry.

Special Domains, Paid Domains and Free Domains

There are three types of domains:

Special Domains

Short letter domains (one, two or three letter domains), popular Trademark domains and certain common dictionary domains may have a higher price per domain name per year. Registered Special Domains can be registered for a period between one and ten years and have the registrant information in the WHOIS database.

Paid Domains

All domains that are not considered to be Special Domains can be registered as Paid Domains. Paid Domains can be registered for a period between one and ten years and have the registrant information in the WHOIS database.

Free Domains

All domains that are not considered to be Special Domains can also be registered as Free Domains. Free domains can be registered for a period of three to twelve months and can only be renewed (for free) in the last two weeks of the chosen registration period. Unlike paid domains, free domains are not the property of the Registrant, and its name will not appear in the WHOIS database. The registrant of a Free Domain is considered to be only a user of the domain.

Dominio GQ API

The Dominio GQ API allows resellers to register domain names automatically without any human intervention. The API is a HTTPS Restful API. There is no fee to use the API. Dominio GQ API technical information is available upon request.
